Love Wins by Rob Bell

Rob Bell's "Love Wins" is a book, as the subtitle suggests, about "Heaven and Hell, and the Fate of Every Person Who Ever Lived". Bell's quick read is a nugget of thought surrounding the current discussion of Christian salvation. His work reads like the "Cliff Notes" for N.T Wright's book, "Surprised By Hope" as he addresses the theology of salvation and justice. Bell's position has earned him both praise and criticism. His discussion of Jesus' parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus is indicative of his fresh reading of scripture. This is good book with which to generate discussions on salvation, heaven and hell, and the role of the contemporary follower of Jesus Christ. Bell suggests the practice of Christianity is directed by one's thinking on this theology. Bell writes as if he were speaking, highly stylistic and choppy, lively, colloquial, and often leaves the linear thinker/reader confused. It is best to read this book as a sermon transcript, or better yet, go hear Rev Bell preach at his mega-church, Mars Hill in Michigan.

Avatar

Saw the movie Avatar last night. It was well done, good entertainment in 3D and well worth the 8 bucks. Technology concepts portrayed in movie way cool! Theology is based on paganism. God does not live in trees but in our hearts and in our relationships through the Holy Spirit. Remember, God created the world and all ...that lives within the world from nothing. God is Spirit and God is Love, the Creator, not the created. That is what makes the incarnation so exciting. Through Jesus Christ, God has entered creation.
